I’m still in Vegas. We tried to get in to see The Beatles show tonight, but there was a ticket mixup. So we’ll see it Tuesday!
Alice had three children after having had a successful career. She loved her kids, but sometimes missed her old life. One morning her mother, mother-in-law, and her sisters knocked on the door.
Her mother told her that the grandmothers would watch the kids all day, while her sister and her friends took her out for a spa day. After a day of pampering the next surprise was that they were going to buy her a new dress, and that her husband was going to take her to a classical music concert that evening.
Her husband picks her up from the dress shop and they go to the concert hall. He tells her that after the show they have been invited to dine with the Maestro and his wife. The show is great and the dinner is lovely.
When it’s time to leave she thanks the conductor for the meal.
He replies “And thank you for cutting my meat up for me.”
Happy Mothers Day to all Mothers who are reading this! (The closest equivalent I qualify for was about two weeks ago, on the last Sunday in April: National Pet Parents Day. Alas, the only “gifts” my feline friend gave me for the occasion were in his litterbox.)
Mom, if you’re reading this, Happy Mother’s Day! I’ll give you a call after i have my coffee. Wish I were closer so I could visit, but, well, life, and all that…
My understanding is that Zappa made it very tough to be a Mother. He would audition by handing the aspirant a score and they had to sight read it on the spot. Grading was pass/fail.

John … you may not be the mother of invention, but you might have been friends with them if you knew Frank Zappa …

Ah, yes. She would’ve written that Great American Novel, if it hadn’t been for that silly putty.

Blessed are the mothers for there is no man who has walked the earth. That was not nurtured in the womb.
