    Thank goodness blades of grass don’t ask whether they matter. What if we are the only living thing in the universe that worries about mattering … and still focuses on bettering my personal situation rather than actually contributing to the world which supports us.

    No, none of us do. We are all just cogs in the machine, interchangeable. The maybe 1% of people who have ever lived have done amazingly well dragging the rest of us out of the cave. Extremely few do anything of real importance. Don’t have to like it, but do, should admit to it.
