Apparently it’s not well known that sea lions are used for performances, not seals (because they can’t do all those things that sea lions can do). You can tell the difference by their size (sea lions are bigger) and their ears, sea lions have external ears and seals don’t. I guess the cartoonist is among those who don’t know this.
