I hope Mike bet his money on Duke, because not only they were the only one to make it to the Final Four in 2001 from the teams Mike picked, but also Duke was the NCAA men’s basketball champion. The other teams to make the F4 were Arizona (runner-up), Maryland, and Michigan State.

It’s not like that way with college football. There, it doesn’t matter how well a team does in its overall season; if they lost their final game, they’re automatically disqualified for the finals.

Trudeau is a little younger than me but I have followed him almost from the very beginning – the b&w college stuff. He so perfectly reflects the times and mores. He is a National Treasure.

If those were the teams this coming year, it would be an all-ACC Final Four. Go figure.

Well, Trudeau did retire. Eventually.

Weird, they changed some of the colors compared to March 31, 2001’s strip.

I can’t imagine that Trudeau ever bet on Duke, in the strip, he always makes sure that Duke never comes out on top. (Though he always manages to resurface after a while.)
