My mother told me this story: I got in trouble at school (1st or 2nd grade), and was sent to the principal’s office. About half-way through his …monologue about what I was doing wrong, I interrupted him to ask what something was on his desk. After the first couple of minutes, my over-active mind got the gist of his speech and went wandering. Flabbergasted the principal to no end. I remember being sent to the office, but not the rest of the story, lol. I probably got a spanking both at school and when I got home. By that time it was immaterial to me, as my mind had moved on.
Another point I need to make is that corporal punishment really wasn’t very effective on me. My mind never associated the punishment with the action. Yes, I knew right from wrong, but impulse control was never my strong suit growing up. Luckily, most of my impulses that needed to be controlled were only minor crimes, usually related to schoolwork, and I’ve (mostly) grown out of it.

Typical redirectional trick while being scolded. I used to try that when I was her age…. it didn’t work then either.

Poor Daddy is stuck in a miniature world. His little car. Maybe he lives in one of Petey’s dioramas.

Ahh yes, misdirection… Petey must still be training her on how to chew her arm off…

I just realized that Daddy and Dill have the exact same head and nose; minus the hair, of course.

ADD/ADHD. I recognize the symptoms.
