I understand there are child-rearing books with titles like “Now You Are Three” or “Now You Are Five”. I wish I could have had some books titled “Now You Are 60” or “Now You Are 70”. Then maybe getting old might not have come as such a surprise to me.

As Nancy Kulp a.k.a Jane Hataway said after she was told her chemo failed to work said: “We all come into to this life with a certian amount of years yet we all foolishly like to think we are the exception.”

Yep. My MIL, bless her memory, was fond of saying “Old age ain’t fer sissies! But, considering the alternative, I’ll gladly grow old!”

I have a doctor’s appt coming up and now you have to fill out questionnaires online. One asks if I have any aches and pains. What a silly question to ask someone of my old age. I’m surprised, I don’t have more than I do.

Sorry, no exceptions.

Don’t we all. One day it’s like a nasty surprise.

It won’t be so tiresome when you don’t age no more.
