wife has horrible arthritis in her hands. She loves to cook so some 20 years ago we got an automatic lid opener. Put the jar in it and lower the top part down then it automatically turns the lid to open it. Great gadget
Even when I was younger, I couldn’t get the glued paper/plastic sealant tops off of bottles, without using a metal tool like scissors to puncture it. I don’t know why they even bother with the lift-up plastic piece.
Packaging Engineers (yes, there is such a profession) have got to be the least competent of all degreed professionals. How many times have you had a package that says “pull tab to open” – and the tab comes off in your hand! Come on people, it’s the 21st century.
• Pump bottles (for lotions, cleansers, etc.) that require you to turn the pump handle to make it work the first time. At least half the time I can not get the twisty thing to click to make the pump work.
• Food packaging that says “tear here.” I have NEVER seen any package with those instructions be actually tear-able, I ALWAYS have to get out the scissors.

I have trouble opening a new can of coffee. Scissors are my friend.

OTOH if it were easy to get into some toddler would eat one, bad for the child, great for all the lawyers that will be raking in cash on the tragedy.

When I was in the Navy, we would give out strips of condoms to sailors going on liberty. I remember similar complaints.

My fingertip regularly gets bloodied opening my weekly med, so I really feel this one!

This was the first B&C that really got me interested. A very Weingarten sense of humor.
