I don’t like Impressionistic paintings for the most part—it is like you are looking at something washed out or seeing things though precription glasses too strong for you. I am more of a Realistm fan with a twinge of Art Deco.
I remember The National Lampoon Radio Hour episode featuring “The French Impressionists”: a guy with a terrible French accent doing an impression of Ed Sullivan—“We have a rrreallyyy grreat shew tonight….”

French impressionism is also a style of muisc… Debussy and Ravel are the two best-known.
