One of my first jobs after college was at a beltway bandit engineering consultant firm. Small office – mostly desks scattered in a couple of large rooms that were down the hall from the executive offices. The president was a figurehead – his wife (who came from old money) had set up the company and put him in charge to give him something to do after he was fired from his previous job. He used to make and fly paper airplanes in his office… sometimes they made it down the hall to our desks. It was the only form of communications he ever made to the rank-and-file the whole time I worked there.
