I’ve heard this argument at my own dinner table….. from my husband! :P

We also observe this phenomenon in our favorite Italian restaurant. People (mostly young women) will take part of their meal home in a doggy bag and proceed to order a very lavish dessert. Personally, if i can’t finish my pizza, I will not have room for dessert either. But that’s just me, I guess.

Sounds familiar. I know someone who ‘fulled the same trick’ There actually is good reasoning for being full and still wanting a sweet treat. The body craves certain things and a good dessert will satisfy that craving and take the heaviness away from the meal.

I used to say the same thing when I was a kid.

My mom, who is a senior, says the same thing. She will be full of dinner and still finish off dessert.

There’s some logic in there somewhere.

That’s exactly what I say about my cookie tummy!!

This was our excuse too. Some things never change.

Dessert stomach is actually a concept in Japan. He might have learned it from his paternal grandparents
