Growing up I never liked mushrooms. Tried them on pizza once, and on top of a pizza, they’re not too bad. The oven bakes out all of the sliminess. Still not a big fan of anchovies though.
I had to be happy with what I got and eat it. No ifs ands or buts……I became quite a lover of different foods. These children are spoiled! She will probably give them nuggets and not make them eat what they had in front of them. Sad. The kids will never know what great food tastes like.
If it was served, at least a bit had to be on my plate. If it was on my plate I had t eat it. However, there were two foods that were served out of tradition that no one had to eat but it did carry on the tradition.
I love mushrooms. I wonder if I did growing up? I likely ate cooked red peppers. I liked stuffed green peppers. So I guess I grew up trying different things.
Now husband was raised to eat everything and in general likes many more foods – especially odd foods than do. But, on the other hand there are a lot of ethnic foods related to my background which he finds disgusting and I eat.

I tried turkey sausages once, so I can honestly say I know I don’t like them. I never had to try liver to know I wouldn’t like it.

You don’t tell them what it is – just give it to them to eat.

Just realized, with the (lack of) tastebuds children have, paired with great cooking skills, her name, “Julia CHILD,” is a contradiction in terms.

TMI… Tell them it’s, “Spaghetti and hot dogs” and a kid will tear right into it.

They’re not ready for gourmet food yet, but they’ll grow into it.
