Someones being a curmudgeon ………
Ratta Sassa frassa!
Sigh? Sí.
Dagnabbit supposedly protects user from being smited by one of the bible’s cartoon characters.
If dagnabit isn’t a word, then how do I say it every day? I also use the word “tarnation” pretty frequently
Why not? They both have distinct meanings, and I’ll bet they are both in the dictionary.
I say “le sigh” occasionally. Got it from a Pepe le Pew cartoon in my youth.
Dadgummit!!
Both have been in common use for ages. They are therefore genuine words. – Sir Nitpick
Yes they are, doggone it!
I beg to differ Clyde. The Oxford English Dictionary contains both words including both British and US pronunciations.
I say it
Sí? A great comic routine by Jack Benny and Mel Blanc.
Of course sigh is a word. He just said it. And lots of other people say it, too. Sheesh.
It’s true that we don’t say “Sigh” out loud when we mean to sigh. Beyond that, Clyde got carried away as a know-nothing know-it-all.
In reality, Clyde does not exist.
I sometimes say, “Heavy sigh.”
