I always enjoyed it when I was there and most everybody else wasn’t. So much that I actually got up early and came in before (nearly) everybody else. Got SO much work done in the first couple of hours before the interruptions started.
Back in the days before auto deposits to your bank, on payday everyone was allowed to take a longer lunch so you could run to your bank and deposit your check. As long as we staggered times so the phones were covered it was OK. At least most banks had drive up service.
