It’s odd how the old-age-dependent nations that most need a young workforce, — to sustain their economic needs — … are often the most resistant to immigrants/refugees.
The only way that immigrants can threaten a country’s way of life is by bringing in new ideas that are adopted by the original residents. Personally, I think Mexican food is a really great contribution, and any other ideas adopted would have to be by people who think they are good ideas— probably because they are. If people failed to learn from new ideas, we would still be living in caves.
Why ViewsAmerica? The cartoonist is European and titled the cartoon “Festival of populism: Populism is good at finding a scapegoat and ignoring uncomfortable truths.” Fits Europe as well as it fits America.
Y’all are missing some of the context. While everyone focuses on immigration, climate change induced by global warming is wreaking havoc; excessive forest fires and excessive flooding among others. That should be priority one. That one reason for immigration is climate change seems to be lost in the noise.

Just ask the National Council of La Raza, the National Restaurant Association, the American Nursery and Landscape Association, the Service Employees International Union, and the corporate owners of industrial farms, Industrial animal factories, ad nauseum.
