The future is here…

That reminds me of a bookstore I seen in the 1990s. They had a section beside the best sellers with the sign, “Slowest Sellers!” And a subsection, “Please shoplift this section. We need the space.”

Maybe “Most Shoplifted” should replace the best seller list?

The most-stolen item from pharmacies? Preparation-H.

See? Shame is a great motivator after all!

Odd that those gangs of shoplifters never hit a bookstore, isn’t it?

The library in my city (Buffalo, NY) had a guard at the front door who experienced some people trying to sneak out books on their way out the exit door. He had some great stories to tell us library clerks about the ways and means they took just to smuggle out picture books from the children’s section for their kids. This strip reminded me of this time.

The Shoplifted Section would be the comics and manga section.

Thrift store prices for me.

I worked at a bookstore once. They kept the Bibles behind the counter because too many people would steal them. No joke.

I think I bought ‘steal this book’; then wished that I had.
