Yesterday, there were references to the UK comic strip Dennis the Menace which still appears in The Beano. I used to enjoy reading Dennis the Menace in The Beano and also reading strips such as Beryl the Peril and Nancy in The Topper. Dennis the Menace first appeared in The Beano in 1951. Beryl the Peril and Nancy both appeared in The Topper when it started in 1953. The Nancy strips which appeared in The Topper from 1953 to 1974 were reprints of American Sunday strips. Beryl the Peril was The Topper’s attempt at a female counterpart to The Beano’s Dennis the Menace. Later in 1953, another female counterpart to Dennis the Menace would start appearing in her own strip in The Beano. She was Minnie the Minx and was drawn by Leo Baxendale. Dennis the Menace and Beryl the Peril were originally drawn by a comic artist named Davey Law.
