I had a Snoopy lunchbox in early elementary. Later it was replaced with an undecorated blue plastic box for reasons I never discovered. When I asked I was told “If you want your lunch, there it is.”
I went through so many Thermos jugs when I was in elementary school because someone would grab it & throw it across the room. This was when they had the glass insides. Long story short, the only way I could eat lunch was if I sat with the lunch ladies.
I remember mine from the first grade – MLB, and picking the shards of glass out of my mouth after the Thermos broke…. Not really. But it was a yellow MLB metal box and the Thermos did eventually break.

Use a paper bag. You won’t hurt anyone if you throw it (unless it has some heavy fruit in it).

You HAD to get a new lunch box every year. It was gauche to have the same one you had the year before

At the time of this strip, she should probably get either a CHIPS or Six Million Dollar Man lunchbox.

I remember when it was cooler to carry lunch in a paper bag than a lunch box (the 70’s).
