I only ran from the police once – senior year of high school – from a kegger into a corn field.

There’s story about Leo Durocher and Babe Ruth’s watch that may be true.

Why are there missing items in my locker, and who put them there? Are you trying to set me up?

A few years back I was working traffic at a local Christmas parade, (I’m a reserve deputy in the county). Afterwards, I went to the school, (where I teach) to compliment the FFA on their float. The advisor (and the kids), told me I needed to pull over one of them who was driving a miniature jeep on the city streets. I caught as they were pulling back into the school and hit my lights, (this was all in fun). The driver froze, but the advisor’s 7 year old daughter bailed out and took off running. Some of the other students caught her before she got more than a few steps away. The FFA advisor and her husband both shook their heads and said “I don’t know what we’ll bo in a few years.” ;)
