Better to explore and encounter pitfalls than to never explore @ all. Maybe Ruby can whip up an ointment to cure your poison ivy problem. BTW, where’s that pith helmet? Ha
Nephew got into poison ivy. When we got home the SIL rubbed him down with calamine lotion. We had to rush him to the hospital. He is deathly allergic to calamine!
have you been noticing stranger looking bugs now? i saw what i thought was a wasp, but it had this long ?? tenticle?? with some green pod? weird. UNTIL i saw it again or a 2nd one. and no…. i don’t do drugs. should, but i don’t
Back in 1947 in Chatham NJ, I was walking in our neighborhood & went by an undevelopedplace full of poison ivy. I told the kid next to me, who was older, that I was allergic to poison ivy.He picked me up & tossed me in to a large patch of poison ivy. I was so sick with poison ivy all over my arms & legs I missed school for nearly a week because I got Impetigo. A common infection of the superficial layers of the epidermis that is highly contagious and most commonly caused by gram-positive bacteria. The lesions are highly contagious and spread easily.
I’m terribly allergic to Poison Ivy. I have to be very careful. Once when i was in 5th grade I got it so bad it looked like i rolled in it. My eyes were swollen shut it was in my ears and my throat, all over my body. I had to miss school for a week. It was a real mess. Never wanted to go through that again.
I bless the person/group that came up with Tecnu skin cleanser (poison ivy oil remover). That stuff has saved my skin and sanity more times than i can mention. for those of you who are also highly allergic to poison ivy: it even does a good job on rashes that have already started.

Mom tried to prepare Red for two contingencies he’s faced so far- hunger and poison ivy. He still has thirst and bugs to deal with.

Dogs can get poison oak or ivy so bathe your dog if they’ve been in it. No calamine lotion, though, toxic to dogs.

As I remember, it took longer for poison ivy rash to appear – perhaps by evening. Oh well, it’s a comic with time shift.

You’d be surprised how many people in poison ivy country don’t recognize it when they see it! Well, I’m surprised, anyway.

I well remember the rash. Horrible itch. My friend wasn’t allergic. I soon learned what poison ivy and poison oak looked like.
