Some people have imaginary arguments in the shower, sure. But for me, it’s anytime, anyplace ! I think it is a version of “l’esprit d’scalier” perhaps??
It’s even better if you post the outcome on Twitter, as if it had actually happened, so people can bask in your brilliance.
Used to be a lot of that, which is why people were so upset about “trolls”.

I tend to ask myself, “Why are you letting that person live in your mind for free?” I immediately stop and change to thinking something pleasant.
