From the site:“The cards are named in Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs still spoken by millions today. Nawals are inspired by real-world Aztec animals, spirits, and folklore creatures. Their abilities are based on the 20 Aztec Signs (cf. the 20 days in a month) each granting a unique power.”

From me:I don’t think a similar tabletop game actually existed in Aztec culture. This modern game reminds me of a short version of D&D.

What animal has Gracie sacrificed? A dog?

As a gamer, this intrigues me! I’m gonna check that out. Nice plug, Gonzalo! Hope there are more games to come :D

The Dice Tower would have given Nawalli a good review except for the symbology. Looks like a solid game once you get to know it.
