Yes. I can attest to that. Whenever stimulation is over or when something that just makes no sense to even understand or discuss comes up, sleep mode comes in automatically. I guess an ADHD brain is already in hyperactive mode so it uses these moments to "rest and allow the circuits (neurons) to “cool down” a bit and recharge to avoid an “overload” (nervous breakdown).

One symptom of ADHD is sensitivity to loud sounds – I wonder if that’s why dogs hate fireworks and vacuum cleaners?
