    I’m fluent in two languages, and passable in three more. So I can say that it varies widely. Some are pretty accurate, while others you wonder if they were intended for a different film entirely.

    Idiom suffers the worst damage. Followed by slang and swearing.

    They are not accurate. Sometimes they stick to the original too closely, sometime too freely.

    If you’re lucky you understand dog and can avoid the cringes from the subtitles. Still I prefer subtitles to dubbing even in languages I have no clue about like parrot or snake.
