With my grandkids; “pull my finger” takes care of it. Only when grandma isn’t around.

I have had bad sleeping habits for almost 40 years now. Ever since boot camp.

Yes, you can lose natural abilities. After cancer treatment on my neck and lower face (slash, burn, and poison), I forgot how to swallow, something newborns can do. I had physical therapy to relearn how to swallow. I even had a final exam, which was to eat an ice cream sandwich before it melted.

I have taken a generic sleep aid every night when I go to bed for the past 20 yrs. I am still aware when things need attention during the night, like when my dog needs to go outside and it doesn’t take too long for me to fall back to sleep, which is a godsend.

I really didn’t want to focus on whatever natural process they’re talking about, so I chose to look into the expression “you look rough” — never heard it before. I googled it; it’s listed as British English. A little more googling informed me that Betty is a Canadian comic strip.

You learn something new every day.

Fizzling is not appreciated in elevators.
