At the first IT job I got, apparently my boss was miffed that they’d hired me instead of continuing on with his blunders. Instead of issuing me a standard computer setup like everybody else had, he pointed at a pile of old broken computers and said, “If you’re so good, build your own computer out of that.” He wasn’t happy that I was able to find enough good pieces to create a Frankenstein computer… and also use it to hack his “secure” network to make myself accounts with full administration rights without him (the administrator) creating accounts for me… even unhappier when he realized (a month later) that I’d used my administrator accounts to limit the abilities of his account…
