…or on stage:During a performance at University of California, San Diego’s Mandeville Hall, Dick Shawn suffered a heart attack and collapsed face-down on the stage. The audience initially assumed that it was part of his act. After he had remained motionless for several minutes, a stage hand examined him and asked if a physician was present.
Troupemate and I played two cowboys for a Ghost Trolley Tour of Cheyenne last weekend, in a park where his character had been lynched for shooting his business partner (me). As the trolley approached I clutched my chest and bent over; he asked if I was all right. Fair question – I have all the risk factors for a heart attack except smoking and full-blown diabetes. Nope – just pretending to be shot.

A buddy of mine had to give CPR to someone who did have a coronary in the gym they go to. The guy made it and was pretty much back to normal after PT.
