In most other democratic countries there’s a strict limit to how soon you can start campaigning. Studies have been done on it and found that the best amount is 3 to 4 months because it allows a candidate to become known whilst not creating election fatigue, and it encourages politicians to do their jobs rather than campaign constantly.

Easy way to help get money out of politics, but the election industrial complex probably won’t allow it. Yes that’s a real thing.

In Spain there is no campaigning 48 hours before the election.

And campaign ads are so informative. Who knew the other guy kicked puppies and pushed old ladies into traffic?

On my phone now, when I type an “s” the autocorrect’s first guess is “stop”.

I’ve already hear comments about 2026 and 2028. It’s gonna be a long four years.

There may be a 2026 mid-term election, but if it goes against Trump, I don’t think there will be a 2028 election.
