Should you treat the room with naturally sourced diatomaceous earth by applying it to the borders around the baseboards the fleas would not survive you would have no need for flea collars. Just be careful to wear a mask until the dust settles. It’s silica , you do not want to breathe it in

Before we discovered Frontline, we used flea collars on our dog. I think they did a good job of keeping fleas off her neck.
