True story: I was in Costco one day when a bunch of firemen were buying supplies for the firehouse. I went up to one of them and asked “did is ever occur to you that when you connect a hose to a fire hydrant, all the dogs in the neighborhood have peed on that hydrant”? He looked dumfounded for a moment, and then said “I guess that’s why we wear gloves”.
My female beagle is all into marking. She has lifted her leg up on a fire hydrant. I have honestly never seen another dog do that before. They usually prefer trees, bushes, and any place else that another dog has marked. My dog might have started a new trend in our neighborhood. If they sniff something and take a pass, it’s because they already marked it and no one else has answered their p-mail yet.
