Ok this comic has jumped the shark into dark and creepy. Why doom Kevin to never learning? Or make the SPED teacher a schmuck? NOT liking this arc at all.
Since this strip is set about 40 years ago—tell us, Mr. Bondia, did Mr. Pritchard succeed? Has the school been renamed Pritchard Elementary? Is every pupil now special?
The complainers here need to take a hike. If you want bland monotonous slice of life go to Family Circus. This comic has evolved wonderfully as Tauhid has stretched his wings and found his stride. It is beautifully drawn, cleverly written, with fun creative stories, and is beloved by Thousands of people on this site and no doubt many more elsewhere. Keep it up, Tauhid. We love what you are doing!
But, haters gonna hate, and they sure like to screech about it and make sure everyone knows, and try and drag things down. Misery loves company, I guess. Why not go find a comic you like and praise it, instead of enduring what you don’t like and becoming a flat tire, insisting that everyone having fun cease and desist?
When I was in 4th my Mom volunteered to lead a Campfire group. (it’s like Girl Scouts). The bad news was that she appointed me President, my only duty was to gavel the meetings to begin and close. I hated that she set me up like that to be hated by jealous 10 year olds. It really embarrassed me, and it didn’t stop there. I carried a folded flag to the pole at school one time. Please, parents, at least ask your kid if they want to be singled out and held up for judgment. Lucky for me this was a very small town and alIthough some girls liked to gossip hateful against me, the “nice” girls had my back. In 1960 the majority of moms stated home and taught their kids boundaries.

‘Consummate under-achiever’ reminds me of ‘not working up to potential’ sixty years ago. Go your own way, Kevin, and tell ’em to bite you.

My gut tells me that this is not the last we’ve seen of Pritchard.

Sad when a kid…or anyone…refuses to work to their potential. Sad but relatable
