Global warming is a terrible threat. China is building three new coal fired power plants a month. But don’t worry, we Canadians have your back. Our wise and beneficent government is about to triple our carbon taxes. That will make a difference, somehow, apparently. You’re welcome.
Climate Change is real. Whether or not it’s anthropogenic is debatable. “Carbon Tax” does nothing except allow the government to waste more money. The only real efforts to support the primary problem are regulations that force companies to comply with reducing air, land, and sea pollution. My gut feeling is that adaptation is our only option until we have a thorough understanding (we don’t) of all the factors involved in the process.
Oddly enough, thermal energy is how sea water turns into vapor and gets forced inland. The lack of thermal energy from the ice sheets’ reflectivity, and their “cold pollution” of the oceans, is why glaciers receded and deserts formed. Even now, cold ocean currents cause desertification, and a reduction in the global atmospheric thermal envelope that creates violent storms elsewhere due to rapid atmospheric cooling of vapor plumes from warmer waters.
Well this does it for me. I’m convinced. A comic illustration of a snowflake, (water ice), bursting into flames proves that Global Warming is real and Human activity, (particularly comic strip artists), is causing it.
If we want clean air and water, and who doesn’t, we need to regulate pollution. It is obvious that companies will not self regulate, no matter what they say.
Since they are in New Joisey, I suspect it was actually precipitating hydrocarbons from the smog…highly flammable.
Reminds me of the older folks I worked with in college talking about the Cuyahoga River catching fire periodically. I think they were trying to tell us kids not to complain about things so much…

Can we just fight pollution because it’s pollution? Climate change will be proven only when it’s too late to do anything.
