Les Nessman?

Got a guy on my route named Les Port. 2 cases down is a carrier who was in the Navy. If he gets a piece of mail I show it to him and we chant, “Less port, more starboard!”

Ernest “Don’t Call Me Les” Hemingway. Our high school lit teacher drummed “Less is more” into our heads. She took us to the school library to look over their fine Hemingway collection. However, the shelf was empty except for a little notecard that said “Less is More.” Always helps to have a classmate who works as a library aide…
