DOGE is advisory only and not an official cabinet position. Congress controls the purse strings and even though republicans have majority rule there’s probably little appetite for them to start cutting popular entitlements that even trump voters want left alone

Seems like the ‘DOGE’ is just a ploy to re-regulate in favor of certain companies ( any guesses as to which ones?) and for the mega rich to get more wealth faster. There is no way they can cut as much as they are saying without getting into Mandatory Spending on Entitlements and the Defense budget. . As was said earlier in this thread, congressmen want to keep their jobs so that is not going to happen in any appreciable way.
