Canada Day in Canada is May 24th (commonly nicknamed “May 2-4” in reference to a 24 pack of beer commonly consumed on the bank holiday weekend). Obviously they have to put it on the nearest Monday, hence why the celebration was last week. Oddly, the British do not celebrate this day!

I thought Victoria Day was last week in Canada. I wonder if they moved it up a week years ago to make it different from Memorial Day in the U. S.

ArthurAllen: Most likely. Victoria was born May 24, 1819.
