My mother always made us write Thank You notes for gifts we received, although I don’t ever recall writing one to Santa.
It was a habit that stayed with me long into adulthood. Sadly, that courtesy seems to have gone the way of the dinosaur.
My 16-year-old granddaughter is the only one who always thanks me in writing (electronically) for anything! Needless to say, her gratitude does not go unnoticed or unrewarded.

Another good reason for letting kids in on the truth about Santa and teaching them to express gratitude to real people.

Perhaps I missed it while I was away, but anyone notice the drawings look different? Cleaner or more high-res with more detailed line weight?
