I’m not a Christian but when I was asked to don the suit because I already looked the part I willingly accepted the responsibility. That was twenty+ years ago, and I’ve been doing it ever since. I commissioned a friend to create a beautiful Victorian suit for me because though not a believer I truly enjoy the kids and parent’s reactions when I arrive at their churches and at the homeless and battered women’s shelters. My biker and firefighter friends collect toys for me to deliver and two of the churches bake and bag cookies for me to hand out. As I’m getting quite advanced in years now, I’m keeping my eyes open for my replacement. Hmmm, one of my Muslim friends also has a white beard and is pretty close to my size and girth and since the legend of Santa is more about elves, magic and love for all than it is about the religion well why not? After all it’s been no secret that I’m a non-believer.

Why not judge him? He has the suit on. Unless he was forced to put on the suit, he has (assumed) the responsibility to set a good example.
