My dachshund had back surgery four years ago and is limited to 20 minutes of walking a day per the vet. I put her in a pram since I like to walk for an hour or so. She rides most of the time but when she walks I simply let her go where ever she wants in the park. That is when she is the happiest little doxie. I have her on a leash so I follow her…over the grass, through the trees, bushes, hillsides and swales. She loves to sniff and track mostly squirrels. I’m elderly, so my dog is the octogenarian agility trainer. But the best part of the walk is when we pass a mother with a child in their pram and I exclaim, “You can put kids in these things?”

I love my dog. I would do that for her, except she weighs 110 lbs.

Dachshunds are not built for snow. Anything over 2-3 inches and their belly is dragging.

I bought boots for my dog that were supposed to be the type they use in the Iditarod, but I could never get them to stay on more than 100 yards.

The snowman is a nice touch. Not sure why, but it helps.

We live in an area that gets snow and bitter cold. My wife found booties for the dogs paws when it gets bad. Protects their feet on walks and when they see the booties come out, they all get excited, something good is going to happen.
