Last Christmas I went ice skating on the lake across the street and fell through the ice in about three and half feet of water. I was fifty feet from shore and heading out to deeper water and was lucky enough to have fallen through when I did. No-one was around and I got myself out and back to shore. As you can imagine, that’s been a sobering moment to reflect on and I’m glad to be here again at the beginning of a New Year. Happy New Year everyone!
Beagles are smarter than most people think. (As I say this, mine is licking a blanket. They do have their moments. Sometimes she licks the sofa, too, or her own bed.)
