Well guys this should lessen your worries; interestingly enough, I recently read that the current feral dogs of Chernobyl who are descendants of pets abandoned and left behind (grrrr…) after the nuclear disaster have mutated over the years to become highly resistant to radiation and are thriving.Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
I don’t know, Will. Maybe there will be a few survivors who will care for you. Otherwise, you are going to have to go feral and catch smaller animals.
I sympathise. I woke up in the middle of the night, as one does, and worried about the thought of nuclear war (thanks Putin). My main concern was how I would be able to feed my pet rats. I guess you could say I have my priorities right.
reading The Stand is enlightening… too many house pets would starve to death either trapped in their homes or yards or just flat out unable to find food. The ones who do survive will do well

We’re talking whatever existed before the dinosaurs, cataclysm.

You managed alright before us, but your life expectancy may decline. In a world like that everything is food.

That’s why ads for horror and sci-fi movies specify “the end of life as we know it” rather than merely “life on Earth”

According to Darwin, survival of the fittest. However, you shouldn’t have to worry. We still have a while, HOPEFULLY…..
