But potential for what?

Got to admit, what Sherman says in the last panel is fairly close to what I remark to my wife at times. No need to say what her response is to that though.

Right, you’re going to spend your life fixing him to your liking whether he likes it or not. Liking him for what he is can’t be an option, can it. But of course he must accept you for what you are. We have a neighbor couple like Megan and Sherman, and the times that guy has left and returned are uncountable. We’re both always pulling for the poor soul to finally just escape for good.

Odds are that Sherman will make a spectacle of himself at the school meeting.

But can the potential ever be fulfilled?

He coulda’ been a contender!

when I was a kid you were either a doofus or a troublemaker, not both!

Herman has a lot to live up to if he wants to be like his dad lol
