we used to donate to the USPS food bank drive. then they specified no expired use- or best-by dated canned goods. dumpster diving at the grocer when poor, if the can wasn’t swollen or leaking, odds are it’s still perfectly good. we don’t donate any more. begging and choosing ain’t good. and to top it off, now there’s E-Bay and Craig’s list.
