Two of mine get the zoomies for any and no reason. Will be sitting at the patio door looking outside and suddenly jump up and tear down the hall, down the steps, back up the steps. Repeat a few times
Cats have different philosophies about their scat. Kirby (pictured as my avatar) was very fastidious. I once was watched him spend five minutes scraping together a little hill of dried grass as a cover when he could not dig in packed clay earth.
We walked in the redwoods with my tabby Johnny Depp. After he had made a couple of quick scrapes and walked away. Kirby came over and covered it more thoroughly. “You have to hide your scat from predators.”
“No, no.” said Johnny Depp. “You have to run away, very fast.” And he did.

I some times need zoomies before I use the litter box

I’d rather Joe Grey have the zoomies after using the litter box than singing the song of his people like he does now.

Better than when you have the Zoomies to get to the litter box, right Mittens? I just had a case of that when my morning coffee kicked in.

My Gracie gets the zoomies anytime she’s just been given a treat she REALLY likes. Or if she can cause chaos by doing it. Mostly the latter.

One of my dogs does this too. Every time she uses the backyard, she sprints back inside. It’s the funniest thing in the world.
