If you don’t want an echo chamber, you’d better not listen to AM radio anywhere in the country.

Right wing corporations own virtually all of them.

In a conversation with Greg Sargent of the New Republic published today, writer Amanda Marcotte called out an important moment in White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s first press conference yesterday.

When a reporter noted that “[e]gg prices have skyrocketed since President Trump took office,” and asked “what specifically is he doing to lower those costs for Americans?” Leavitt answered: “Really glad you brought this up because there is a lot of reporting out there that is putting the onus on this White House for the increased cost of eggs. I would like to point out to each and every one of you that in 2024, when Joe Biden was in the Oval Office or upstairs in the residence sleeping, I’m not so sure, egg prices increased 65 percent in this country. We also have seen the cost of everything—not just eggs—bacon, groceries, gasoline, have increased because of the inflationary policies of the last administration.”

During his campaign for the presidency, Trump repeatedly attacked Biden for the post-pandemic inflation that afflicted the country, and promised to bring down “the price of everything.” Even before he took office, Trump had begun to walk back his promise, and J.D. Vance has also suggested price relief would “take a little bit of time.” Now coffee and egg prices are at an all-time high, and the administration’s solution is to attack Biden. No matter the incompetencies of the Trump presidency, Marcotte notes, it appears the answer will be: You might not like what we’re doing, but don’t you hate Democrats more? – Heather Cox Richardson – Jan 30

And, of course, still no magat comments extolling Their Messiahs pardons of violent felons and the drug dealer who brought fentanyl to America.

No celebrations of their new Secretary of Drunk.

No gratification about Trump attempts to claim Congressional powers.

    .

They voted for someone to rid America of its dictator phobia and now they’re silent about it.

    Maybe they can explain why.

Stanti, considering the lack of push-back that you give to Ted on y’all’s podcast when he goes unhinged, I would suspect you love you sum’ echo chambers……..Also, concerning your recent editorial piece, it’s called reinsurance.

Concerning yesterday’s Bramhall, I’m more than happy to give RFK, JR to the right-wing populists like the geniuses who post here. Y’all can have Menendez, too. He profiles as the type of cretin y’all like to defend.

‘’trump Signs Executive Order to Build Migrant Detention Camp in Guantanamo Bay’’

Not even 2 weeks in and we’re already at concentration camps.

trump building a concentration camp at Guantanamo Bay simultaneously answers the question of “how did people even let the holocaust happen” and “does history repeat itself”

Bannon talk about flooding the zone. The goal is to hit you with as much stuff as possible so maybe you hit on 1 or 2 things, but 3 or 4 other things get through. They want the chaos. It’s all intended and they’ve been working for 4 years on this.

The fascist Gish Gallop, the shock doctrine. This is P2025 that they swore wasn’t gonna happen.

FIRST THEY CAME FOR IMMIGRANTS AND I SPOKE UP BECAUSE WE’VE ALL SEEN THIS BS BEFORE!

Physical newspapers used to be reliably objective outside the editorial section. The right has played the long game there as they did in local legislatures and the judiciary. Plus, billionaire publishers have largely caved to peer pressure to join the oligarchy.

Probably Bbc and Die Welt are the most objective sources these days. Even those of us who believe ourselves immune need to be on guard, my dad was a died in the wool liberal but watched Fox with his conservative wife. He eventually started repeating the lies they fed him.

So get out and read other things!

Search, assess, and consume from a variety of sources. Treat every derivative reference with credible doubt. Do quick lookups on sources for any leanings they might have.

And above all, read. Videos are mostly crap.

Many news reporters are in an echo chamber today.

Just days after Dump makes cut backs in aviation traffic control, a major plane collision takes place minutes from landing safely.

When is the media and 30% of the U.S going to wake up.

Yes – 30%. The votes were rigged. Dump and Muskrat couldn’t resist admitting it.
