Personally, I have no problem with people being wealthy. Even stupidly wealthy. The opportunity to pursue wealth is one of the advantages of living in the US. I have a problem with people cheating and being cruel. It doesn’t take wealth to do that.
Oligarchy is the top of the ego club. They all have huge wealth, so it is the pursuit of power. The pecking order is what drives them. tRump was at the bottom and disrespected. Now he’s at the top, he has the power. Watch the others, who look now as supportive, to be positioning themselves to take him down. The names we know, Musk, Gates, Zuckerberg, etc. are not the ones to watch. The names we don’t know, the quiet ones, those who have done so all along, are the ones we need to pay close attention to. The in-fighting for power is on.
“Nothing is more dangerous than getting between JB Pritzker and the buffet table!” Elon Musk wrote from his personal account on the X platform that he owns. X is formerly known as Twitter.
Gov. JB Pritzker responded to the message by posting an image of himself purchasing a hot dog at a famous Chicago hot dog stand – the Wieners Circle. “I salute @The WienerCircle, not Nazis.”, he wrote.
First of all, whether you call it oligarch or plutocrat, it involves being a ruler. Just being super rich just makes you super rich, not an arch or crat. Second, self-made wealth is usually evidence of skill and wisdom and the ability to manage complex organizations. Not always, I get it. But look at Bezos and Musk. They didn’t shoot a gun into the ground and up came a-bubblin’ crude. Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea. It was discipline and drive and creativity to made them what they are. Better they run things than people who just float along on the current. Sure, there’s a danger they will do things for their own benefit and the detriment of the powerless. But that happens no matter who’s in power, as happened during the French Revolution.

Oligarchy is another concept that magats ‘know’ does not exist.
Like White Privilege, increasing wealth inequality, and climate change.
.
Also, they ‘know’ that Trickle Down works perfectly.

Just to be accurate:
An oligarch is a member of a small ruling group.
A ruling rich person is a plutocrat.
