Growing up there were train tracks across the street, hardly ever used, only for the small business down the street.
One day I was coming home from work and screeched to a halt because the boxcars were swaying, back and fourth, and fell over, thank god, the other way into the woods…it went off the rails…if it had fallen the other way, it would have landed right in my front yard and possibly hit my house. What a scary memory……☹️☹️ This was in the late 50’s!
Growing up, we had the NY Central tracks on one side of our neighborhood and the B&O tracks to the coal dock on the other side. We did not live on the right or wrong side of the tracks. We lived between the tracks.

My town and the town to the north are separated by train tracks, the north refer to us as the wrong side of the tracks.
