I remember back in the 80’s, I think, when my son just had to have the shoes with the “pump” because he believed those commercials that demonstrated how you could almost fly with them. He discovered that they were just shoes.

Johnny Carson used to say, he’s a little light in the loafers.

Ever been behind a car that hit a bump and the rear end of the car kept bouncing and bouncing and slowly settled down?

That car ‘dampeners’ (i.e., shocks) were worn out, which is the same problem that Monty is having…

Many years ago I got my parents to buy me a pair of PF Flyers for my birthday. I was so disappointed I couldn’t jump any farther or higher.

Get the ones from the Enterprise! They go from warp 8 to a full stop and everyone bumps forward like they’re in the family sedan at a light.
