Last time I had my head shaved, I got a version of this question too. WTF?

so, are’ hoagies ’ an east coast moniker or what…I know that here in the midwestern US, nobody says hoagies….but then again we all say ‘warsh’ when we really mean ‘wash’… never knew I had an accent until I met a guy from alabama. LOL

About three inches. That’s as long as its been. But I don’t want to hit splairs. ☼

If “hoagie” is East Coast, it’s more toward the Mid-Atlantic region. In MA, we call them grinders.

Hoagie is a Philly thing. Subway doesn’t make ‘em, they make some horrible imitation quasi-hoagie. There’s a reason the chain is named SUBway.

bleeep, I miss living near Philly. On the one side, cheesesteaks and real hoagies, on the other, wonderful Amish food. Can’t get Lebanon bologna ANYWHERE in California - and they call themselves foodies…

An almost rational reason: so he can estimate how fast it grows (in inches per month or whatever), then use that to say “This style will work for six weeks, then come back in or else start pulling it back into a scrunchy.”

I’m with farren on this one, miss living in Penn state for that very reason, nobody outside of the Philly area knows how to make a cheesesteak properly (Same with Buffalo wings, outside of western NY). The name “hoagie” is also pretty local to Penn.

Hair-cutting can be done in silence. Just point to the bits you want cut off. Make a scissors gesture with your fingers. Bring a ruler to indicate preferred length. This problem is now FIXED.

Sometimes this type of question is important. When the dentist asks you, “When is the last time you brished your teeth” you should take it as advice.

I’m from the smack-dab center of the USA, and I don’t know anybody who mispronounces “wash” or “autopsy”.

Everybody does say “jist” for “just”, though.
