I’d rather have a volleyball as fellow castaway…

Spiders (Phoneutria fera and nigriventer) in tropical trees (especially bananas. Not sure about coconuts). Had a large spider in the house yesterday—I could even hear it growling. I fed it, stroked it, and put it outside. Lovely, friendly creatures.

How did they even end up there?

If only he had his glasses then he could see them.

I’ve done that, and believe me … you feel pretty silly when you find them.

The face is worth a laugh.

Most problematic when you need some glasses to find your glasses, usually keep an old pair around since my vision only changes slightly and their usually good enough.

Some day I would like to see a photo of an island with only one coconut palm and nothing else on it.

I don’t see them in the last panel. Perhaps Moondog has them on the line. :)

Here’s where we get to mention the “end of the world” episode of The Twilight Zone entitled “Time Enough At Last”, in which Burgess Meredith portrays a bookish bank teller who spends every lunch hour in the bank vault reading in peace but emerges one day to discover that an atomic war has killed off everyone else, so he can now read as much as he wants all the time.
