Butler started his coffee business during the Covid-19 lockdown as a joke among NBA players. He became genuinely interested in coffee and got in deeper. On the one hand I’m glad to see a professional athlete remember there is life after sports and wish him well. On the other hand, I’m happy with my current brand and won’t pay a premium for one that isn’t any better.

I wonder if athletes ever start their own original toy lines.

Coffee always tastes better if someone else is buying it!

I’m a live hard (I refuse to die hard!) Chiefs fan, but I’m sick and tired of Mahomes’ commercials. I’ve always thought that commercials should only be done by struggling unknown actors, who can be ashamed of themselves later.

But if you get traded you can’t take your local coffee or anything else with you….

Butler traded himself into oblivion…nobody wants the headaches attatched to him…..

Sports jerk could be Scott Boras,who asks for the moon for his clients and is mortally offended when nobody gives it to him….

Tank, your agent gets a nice share of your earnings. So you are in reality buying both cups.

Another reminder that greed has NO limits.

Never heard of the dude, or his coffee. And yet, I feel no sense of loss.

If invested wisely, that $50 million could allow for several generations to live very comfortably. Knowing most of the NBA, that might last until next week.

If one can’t understand regular economics, how can one understand sports econ?
