You should “take arms against against all fear”, Shakespeare at your doubts and watch them crumble.

Let young Hamlet play Hamlet. He’s perfect for the role.

Hamlet always makes me think of Gilligan’s Island. Phil Silvers guest starred on the show and the castaways put on a musical version of Shakespeare to persuade him to rescue them. Too bad the show was so good he left them on the island and stole their idea. Bob Denver made a memorable Hamlet. Alan Hale was NOT a good actor, sorry Skipper. But his Polonius was the best thing he ever did. The songs were all great fun, with clever lyrics. And Phil Silvers was great!

“Danish pastries for two… For me, for you!”

“Hide any place! (But don’t go near the water!)”

Dang, Boody. You know how rare it is to be invited to play a lead role when you haven’t even auditioned for it? I’m not much of a stage presence, but I’d be hard pressed to turn that down.

…Unless I suspected a trap. Hmm, maybe you were right.
